Brief Overview & System Purpose

Alumnet is an end-to-end Student–Alumni Mentorship and Career Guidance platform designed to bridge the gap between academic institutions and their global alumni network. It provides a structured digital ecosystem where students discover verified alumni based on shared interests, career goals, and professional industries to seek 1-on-1 mentorship, secure job referrals, and participate in institutional career initiatives.

Key System Features & Functionalities

Student–Alumni Mentorship Discovery: Advanced search and filtering by industry, company, and graduation year with direct 1-on-1 mentorship session booking.

Event Management & RSVP: Alumni and admins can organize webinars, workshops, and networking summits with real-time seat reservation for students.

Exclusive Job & Referral Board: Alumni can post internal job openings and internship opportunities, enabling students to request direct employee referrals. (Will be implemented soon)

Task & Milestone Management: Dedicated assignment and skill-building tracker allowing mentors to assign structured milestones to mentees.

Rich Profile Customization: Comprehensive user profiles showcasing verified certifications, work experience, academic background, and skill names.

Community Discussion Forums: Interactive discussion boards for students and alumni to engage in domain-specific Q&A and networking.

Designed and developed core frontend architecture and responsive user interfaces using Next.js and Tailwind CSS.

Implemented the comprehensive Event Management workflow, allowing alumni/admins to create events and students to register.

Built the Student-Alumni Mentorship module including discovery filters, mentor request pipelines, and status tracking.

Developed task tracking and student assignment management interfaces with seamless state synchronization.

Implemented user profile customization with dynamic certifications, skills, and experience showcases.

Integrated theme switcher (Light/Dark mode) with polished UI micro-interactions.
